Our Venue

Our venue is one of the most unique aviation museums

in the world.

The Helicopter Museum is home to the largest dedicated helicopter collection on earth.
The trip round the museum is simply breathtaking; aircraft from across the globe fill the hangars.
When coming to our event you will be in for a real treat, there are very few museums in the UK where you can walk up to and touch the aircraft. At the helicopter museum you can do more than that. Open cockpit days are a weekly event (yes even when we are there) and there is the opportunity to sit in the aircraft and relive the pilot experience.

The Museum is host to not just civil helicopters, many aircraft from the world’s air forces can also be explored. Ever wanted to feel the weight of a 4 barrel 12.7 mm cannon? Well here you can, and not only that, you may just find yourself behind the controls.

Of course there are other types of helicopter to see, from the smallest to the very largest. Its not all jet fuel and metalwork, the Helicopter Museum is also home to some of the most luxurious helicopters ever built, you could say that they are fit for a queen, because that’s exactly who they where built for. The museum hosts three of the Queen’s Flight helicopters. See first hand the luxury that being the monarch affords. Sherry anyone?

The Museum is also home to one of the most extensive collections of model helicopters in Europe. Miracles in miniature.

Let us not forget that the museum is not just for static aircraft and is in fact a working heliport for a number of different aircraft and companies. During FSCWeston the heli- pad at the museum is alive with rotors. Fancy a quick flight? Perhaps a sightseeing tour of Weston Super Mare? Why not book in advance and enjoy a flight in a Bell 206.
Other aircraft are also available to see on the “Flight line” including the
Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and the The Great Western Air Ambulance.
Visiting aircraft from all over the UK are regularly “Popping in”.

The Museum has so much more to offer than the usual gift shop and stagnant tour, this museum is enthusiastic and excited about its collection, and we guarantee you will be too.
